To Our Valued Volunteers,
As 2025 comes to a close and we prepare to welcome 2026, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your continued commitment to strengthening our community. Your generosity and dedication have made a real and lasting difference, and it is because of volunteers like you that we are able to accomplish so much.
Throughout the year, you helped provide 19,600 miles of service - representing more than 500 rides and over 700 volunteer hours. Almost 60 unique riders were served because of your willingness to give your time and compassion. Thanks to you, community members were able to access essential medical care, including cancer treatments, dialysis, and other critical procedures as well as return home from unexpected hospital stays. Many also attended physical therapy appointments, supporting their recovery from injuries and surgeries, restoring their independence, and at times enabling them to return to driving.
Beyond providing medical transportation, you helped community members remain connected to the people and activities that matter most. Riders were able to see holiday lights, volunteer with local nonprofits, visit loved ones in hospitals and long-term care facilities, access food resources, and so much more. With every ride, you also offered meaningful conversation and companionship - often serving as the only non-medical connection a rider had experienced recently.
Your support has meant the world to both HIRTA Helps and the community members served. One individual shared, "It is so reassuring realizing that I am not alone and can depend on HIRTA Helps." Community members not only value the service you provide-they truly enjoy the time spent with you. When asked about their most memorable moments with HIRTA Helps volunteers, many respond with comments such as, "I don't get to talk to a lot of people and enjoy wonderful conversations with volunteers" and "I love to talk with volunteers."
We are truly grateful to have you be part of the HIRTA Helps team. Your compassion, generosity, and sincere desire to make an impact have helped us grow and accomplish far more than we could have on our own. May the year ahead bring new opportunities to serve, connect, and make a difference-together.
