Volunteer: Emergency Management VolunteersVolunteers will respond to the request when Madison County Emergency Management feels they have a situation where large groups of spontaneous volunteers are needed to respond. Volunteers at the Volunteer Reception Center are responsible for one or more of the following tasks: – ensuring spontaneous volunteers are registered and accounted for. Volunteers would complete the paperwork provided by the Coordinator pertinent to the event. This could be in multiple stations within the county depending on the situation. – staffing a post evacuation or disaster situation that will continue beyond 8 hours. – staffing a phone bank to answer questions with prepared information provided by the Coordinator – assist in registering people in a temporary shelter Volunteers could also assist Emergency Management during local events.
